Donor's Accessment

I am so motivated with all this quoted assessment report.I can understand how to use the motivation to my staff.

"Although she lacks experience – limited to working for a year in a junior position at the Women’s Radio Centre which runs a rival radio station in the capital -- the station manager very much impressed the evaluation team. She has a firm understanding of the vision and mission of the station and appears to be managing her team well, holding weekly meetings with all staff and setting weekly targets with marketing staff. She has also begun the process of staff evaluations.



The station manager also appears to have considerable potential for quickly developing her knowledge and skills. During the evaluation visit she was always well prepared and showed a sound knowledge of the workings of the station and her team as well as of the station’s marketing potential. Her ideas for further development of the station seemed practical, measured, and well focused, while at the same time she showed enthusiasm to learn from others. The evaluation team was also impressed that in a country where it is very unusual for people to give their time for free, the station manager had established a team of volunteers to work on a youth program and has also demonstrated her personal commitment to the initiative by also giving up her spare time to work on the project."

It has been nearly half year I did not write anything here. However, I daily soaked with all the in book and real-life experience.

In this year, I went to get the exchange visit at Green Radio Indonesia, I learned a number of major skill via observing and taking to the station manager, senior producer, technician, Promotion and Marketing manager. Media management is something only media production and knowing how to mobilize the resource we have to sustain the organization.

After I came back, I mapped and directed some of new productions and initiatives and learn more how to motivate the production team more effectively. Some of instances are providing new software on track player and record, Standard Operation Procedure, extra-curriculum for hosts and DJs, SMS shared venture program, off-air activities, my station's Fan's Day, initiative direct sponsor with their specific program (e.g radio dramas), new package rate.

Recently, I met a free consultant who I am mostly respected. He is not a media personal, but he also experienced in the media management and he is excel at M&E and project management. I told me that there are a number of media experience there in Cambodia were not documented. Thus, the transfer knowledge from the younger to experienced elders is limited. Should the experience also write what they know, thus, it would be helpful to younger generation especially the media personal. What if they are retired? They will just keep what they know with them and the younger one need to rapidly search as they did.

It reminds me about this blog. Although I am not really in an expert yet, but I am willing to learn and share what I got in here via collecting what I know and experience for document to the successors.
